Today finaly saw the loading of the Swan Hunter goose neck cranes.
They where first stripped down in situ on the SH quayside and loaded onto SH own floating drydock along with a smaller floating barge crane. These where then secured in place and have been sat awaiting shipping to there new home in India.
Today the "Osprey" submersible barge came into the Tyne to load the dry dock and its cargo.
The Osprey was flooded down and the drydock floated into place before being raised under the whole dock lifting cranes, dock and all.
Unfortunatly I didnt get any pictures of that but I beleve mudlark has so will put up my shots from this afternoon.
At aprox 5:00pm tugs moved into place to edge the Osprey out from her berth at The Port of Tyne.

The Osprey is now sheduled to lie up at her current location overnight and will leave the Tyne tomorow at 4pm taking another piece of our industrial heritage with her
