Long before it was sterilised, bleached and stripped of most of its genuine character for the 'City of Culture' charade, Liverpool offered dozens of interesting sites. These are some examples taken on the Docks Road. Not been back for a couple of years but from what I see they're trying to make the waterfront look like Hong Kong. Yuk.

Thanks for the comments folks - I'll keep trawling the old photo files. While we're on the 'Pool, can anyone understand why about 90% of the pre-war houses in the city are boarded up - even to the absurd lengths of making the boards/plates appear decorative?
