This hotel was open and busy up until the early 90's. In the mid 90's it closed and reopened shortly after. It lasted for a brief spell, and then the government leased it out as accommodation for refugees and asylum seekers. (This was the norm back then out of our super intelligent, accommodating, and biggest shower of w@nkers we like to call our leaders over here!)
Anyway, the residents were a mix of former russian countries and african war countries, and had to feed them, one chef. The chef used feed them burgers and chips practically every day and they were not happy with this and demanded they get fed their own traditional dishes. This didnt happen, and war broke out, (ironic as thats the supposed reason they got away from their own countries in the first place!!). The place was thrashed, and left to rot. Over the years copper was stolen and windows removed but the majority of the damage in these photos is down to the initial disturbance between the chef and refugees.
By the way there were other hotels in the area that had same mix of individuals but did not meet this fate, I think this just had a bad crew in it, before anone thinks I'm being racist or picking on anyone I'm not, its just the history of this place.
So, here goes, hope you enjoy, tons of pics so if mods or admin think its too much let me know and I'll remember for future reference. Thanks.
