A chance find this one while in bury looking at something else non exploration related, a call to bigjobs and the next night myself over and bigjobs were on our way up this MONSTER crane!!
with a 49M height under hook, the platform height of this crane will be around the 53M mark (173 feet for those amongst us who like old money :p :D )
some site info from HERE (http://www.bury.gov.uk/Business/EconomicDevelopment/EconomicRegeneration/TownsideBury.htm)
for this project bury MBC are working with joint venture partners, Ask Developments, to create an exciting new quarter for Bury. Together we are AskBury.
The £80 million Townside development will form the southern gateway to the town. Masterplanned by architects Carey Jones, will include new offices, retail and leisure units, as well as extensive public landscaping and new apartments.
The development framework for the whole 165,000 sq ft scheme, located opposite Bury Town Hall, was formally agreed in 2006.
The best thing about this crane is that it had ONLY been up for 3 days when we did it :p so its guarnteed to be VIRGIN!! lol and is the tallest crane i have done to date.
we set off up the crane with lovelly clear skies, conditions couldnt have been better, and after some fiddling around we were soon at the top admiring the view wich was AWESOME to say the least!!
BUT disaster, 20 mins after arriving at the top the fog came in thick and fast, so sadly no nice pics of the view over bury
still it was good for the ride!!
PICS!!!!!!!!
the first 2 are the only ones with ANY scenery in them you can see the fog coming in!!
