Beneath the front steps of Leeds Town Hall are the old Central Charge Office and police cells, the reputed haunt of the ghost of the notorious burglar Charles Peace who was sentenced for muder and then executed in Armley Prison, he was hanged.

It was in use right up until the year 1992 but is now a sort of museum, open to the public on certain occasions. Always good for a look if you get the chance. The old crown courtroom above is also open sometimes.
