Originally planned as a trip with a photographer friend from Glasgow, this turned into a bit of a jolly with long lost friends who emigrated to Oz and assorted others. Time was limited due to the impending boredom of the non-urbexers and I was gutted to get back and realise that the camera had been knocked onto manual focus by mistake half way round and most of the shots were out of focus :doh:

Work on the seminary began in 1961 and took five years to complete. It was designed by Isi Metzstein and Andy McMillan for the architects Gillespie, Kidd and Coia. In 1980 it closed, when the seminary was moved back to Glasgow and it was used for a while as a drug rehab centre.

Despite it now being little more than a concrete shell, it is said to be one of the most important modernist buildings in Scotland. It is listed as a grade A building but there have been plans to demolish what is left, which would be really sad as it's a great place to explore and I can't wait to go back, hopefully when it's a little warmer.
