I arrived at the ferry terminal in good time having driven a 2 hour + journey to get here.
As it turned out the ferry was 30 minutes late departing as the crew were farting about
in the engine compartment hitting bits of machinery to try and make the engine start.
It finally fired into life and we were away on a 20 minute ferry ride across the sea to "the island".
The Island is more or less a square mile in size. There have been 3 major leisure projects that have
built here in the past 10 years. All have since failed. It's these projects I have come to explore:
1) Beach Resort
2) 18 hole golf course + club house
3) Mediterranean theme high end holiday apartments
It's going to take me a further 1-2 trips to cover the last 2 locations. I sorely underestimated the
ground I had to cover to explore the resort alone, then to locate the golf club and apartments
was a too tall of an order for the short time I had.
When I explore the last two locations I will post them in this report, so stay tuned till then.
Location 1 : The beach resort
The beach resort is a mix of individual chalets and hotel room blocks. What's so bloody amazing
about this place is that all the main equipment and furnishings have been left inside each
room. I assume the hassle of carting it all back to the mainland isn't worth it, so it's all been
left here.
I was the only guest there that day and I fully enjoyed my time :D
