This flak battery is part of the kelling camp, the batterys housed Bofor guns, there are three gun pits each with there own pump house/bunker beside. One can be accessed by a very dodgy wooden ladder. The whole camp is a large area which is well worth a wander around if you in the area, we found ww1 and ww2 pill boxes, one is being restored with its original trenches around. On the far side of the field are two bunkers that were used to house generators that lit up a false airfield on top of the hill used to confuse the germans. While in the area its worth continuing along the coast to Salt house to see the remains of the radar tower that was brought down at the chain station by a Lancaster in 1945, I have some photos if any ones interested.
Thanks on to the photos.

Yeah awesome stuff, just the kind of thing I love. I would like to see more and some of the Salt House site you talk about.

The signs are great and are gold dust to me when I find them.

Why are some of your pics small though? :(

Also, in the third pic, what are those cool looking buildings in the background? they look WW2 or Chain Home style.

The buildings in the background are still being used, in front of the buildings there is some kind of modern receivers , the MOD sign outside is marked RAF Neatished so is still connected to the active part of Neatished some how. There are some modern signs warning of strong microwaves at 3mtrs in height. The security is pretty tight. The other building is a weather station that lets out some pretty eary sounds.

Which of the 3 bunkers did you get inside?
The only one with a ladder is blocked up half with mud, and couldn't squeeze inside.

And where is that tunnel?
We couldnt find it anywhere...

This is a fascinating site.

So if they are Gun Wells... then where are the DH82B Queen Bee/Modified Tiger Moth Target Drone launch pads, as photographed in the Muckleburgh Collection.
