Finding ourselves with a couple of spare hours and looking to do something fairly easy and close by headed out with mudlark and tictac.

The place has been well reported but none of us had ever been and as its just 5 minutes away from my frontdoor we decided to go and see for ourselves.

Decided that externals first would be the way to go as we where losing light.

The place is priety fooked really. Most of the original switch gear is either smashed or been stripped out but theres still some bits that are worth a peak.

Then it was onto the main reason we came. The control room.
Access into this room is a lttle tricky if your of a "slightly bigger build" like yours truely so as I wasnt going to be denied it was a quick jump up onto the roof, a short but all to exposed crawl, and a climb down the remains of the internal walls...

Ok a little bit extream but worth it

then it was back up the wall, another crawl and a slight fail of my improvised climbing frame and home in time for tea and crumpets.

Looking at past reports it looks like alot of this place has been stripped, especially the workshop downstairs. Still, cheers for the trip out :D
A return visit is, indeed needed. And a new hat.....
:D :D :D
