I got a why dangle lens from Santa Clause and was testing it out in dundee, this explore really was spur of the moment so i had no torches, tripods or anything!
the pics were shot at ridiculous ISO speeds so they do look a little "lomo"-esque

William halley & sons wasone of the oldest, and most modest looking of the old jute mills in Dundee also bein one of the largest producers I believe. It closed in 2004 to move to a smaller premise nearer the harbour.

Bummer about the tripod but things like window ledges, tables, chairs and ladders could be used instead ;) Looks decent from the outside.

A short bit of history...

The company was founded by William Halley, a flax manufacturer who became part owner of Wallace Craigie Works spinning mill, which was built in 1836. The shortage of cotton during the American Civil War resulted in a huge boom in the jute industry and by 1865 Wallace Craigie Works had doubled in size. William Halley's sons became partners in the firm at this time, and the firm became William Halley & Sons. In 1874 William Halley died, his elder son retired, and George Halley became sole proprietor. William Halley and Sons Ltd still continues as a family firm based in smaller premises in Wester Gourdie from 2004.

The old site is being developed by Craigie Estates Ltd who expects to spend £18m on renovating the property into 174 Apartments.

Worth going back with a tripod if you're in the area again, if it's a sunny morning you get some good sunbeams on the upper floors. From time to time I've had a laugh watching prospective metal thieves scuttling over the wall on Ferry Road – there's pretty much nothing metallic left inside other than the columns…

I almost certainly will, I only spent 12 minutes there because the bus back was only 3 minutes after we left
