Decided to pay this place a visit with three non members. Very glad we did, it's been on my list of places to do for a while now.

History:

The school for boys was built in Bushey, Hertfordshire in 1903 and a Junior School was added on the other side of The Avenue in 1929. By 1939 there were 800 boys at the school. Following a decline in pupil numbers the junior school closed in 1970; the site is now occupied by Bushey Academy. Numbers continued to fall, and the senior school closed in 1977. For a time, the buildings housed the United States International University (Europe). Both schools were commonly used for films (such as Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Lucky Jim (twice), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and numerous TV shows) from the 1950s until recently. They have now been redeveloped as luxury housing.

The first building we went into was one of the school buildings, which also housed the assembly hall.

Long corridor, with a number of rooms on the right hand side.

One of the rooms housed a nice model of the school.

Some of the other buildings have already been turned into flats, and most are on there way now as well. Stay out of the buildings with new double glazed windows :thumb

Next we headed to the chapel, the main reason I wanted to come to this site.

Finally we left the site after seeing two other people being chased by security. I decided to walk around to the front to see if he would let me get up close to the clock tower, but he wouldn't let me any further than next to his hut.

Any feedback would be great guys, cheers :thumb
