Steetley Chimney Demolition Photos

End of an era.

Built in 1961, the chimney has dominated the Hartlepool skyline for over 50 years. Today the chimney was blown up as part of the ongoing development work on the site.

Below are a few pics i took in a 'going, going, gone' style. Unfortunatly my video camera didnt record it properly, so pics will have to suffice.

I was at least a mile away from it and i heard the bang

Mintz remember walking round here about 4 in the morning with MJS after about 300 miles and 9 hours of fails. Was hard to believe the site was left like that really, kind of demo most of it fuck the rest of it type of thing

The battery on my video camera died just as it blew up. I have a nice video of the chimney not blown up though if you want to see lol.
