Whetley Mills, home of Daniel Illingworth and Sons spinning business, designed by local architects Milnes and France for Alfred and Henry Illingworth in 1865. By the mid 1890s 1000 people were employed here which made it the largest employer in Bradford. Now nearly 150 years later, after a half done conversion to offices this complex holds a Lawn Mower repairman and a small security man with a big ass dog.
This is an unfortunate case of another beautiful Mill crumbling slowly, it’s once beautiful brick vaulted ceilings now dusty and decaying it’s only full time occupants the rats, pigeons and carp in the pond outside.

Interestingly, it has hardly changed since the reports of 2010, very little vandalism etc, must be the big dog!

On with the pics!

Yeah its a strange place. Some of it seems to be semi in use and other bits derelict. Good to see an update on the place.
