Visited with GeoVDUB (cheers for driving & providing LED goodness :thumb )

There is not really any history to tell on the park it self, so i will talk about the actual sculptures.

After many many miles of walking and numerous cow pat steppings (I actually put my tripod square in the middle of one) and encounters with the local binge drinking preteens we bashed out some photos.

First thing we decided to hit up was this piece by Henry Moore, I cant find the name of it anywhere :(

Yorkshire Sculpture Park showcases the largest display of open-air bronzes by the artist in Europe. The selection of sculptures changes this year with new loans from the Henry Moore Foundation.

Created between 1955 and 1985, the bronzes represent the peak of the artist’s career when he worked on a monumental scale and particularly for the open air.

Next up we got to Basket #7 by Winter/Hörbelt

Since their artistic collaboration began in 1992, Winter/Hörbelt have developed many sculptures that are also structures where people can meet.

Basket #7. Oxley Bank is a two-storey steel pavilion on a high ridge of the Longside valley, providing shelter, rest and spectacular views across the landscape. The Bretton Estate was designed to incorporate a series of viewing points and follies, only a few of which remain

This thing was awesome, surprisingly easy to get lost in considering it was so small, anyway as usual we decided the flash the shit out of it and add some colour.

Ok, after about another 100 miles of walking we got to this section by Eduardo Paolozzi.

Sir Eduardo Paolozzi trained at the Slade School of Fine Art. He worked in printmaking and experimented with collage, combining casts of random everyday objects that interested him to make sculpture. Notable works include the patterned walls of Tottenham Court Road tube station in London, the sleeve design for Paul McCartney’s album Red Rose Speedway and the Head of Intervention outside the Design Museum in London.

I dont know the name of this one.

There was actually loads more to see that we had missed, but we stepped in one cow pat too many and decided to call it a night, and the fact that IR Security cameras had clocked us we decided probably best to leave.

Thankyou for looking, GeoVDUB will be adding pics :thumb

I know they look just like Fowles, but light painting is a tag team effort you know!
