Wimbledon & Putney Storm Relief Sewers aka 'CRYPT'
http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx345/ojay1234/Other/Crypt/ME.jpg
I'd wanted to see this amazing feat of over engineering for some time now
Serving the Wimbledon and the Southern High Level Interceptor No.1 sewers Crypt was designed by the one and only J.W Bazalgette
Constructed within the Wandsworth Aqueduct which has since been demolished, the two sewers meet and drop into the Low Level Interceptor No.1
(Here is a copy of the original plan)

First up the 'Egg' shaped Wimbledon relief sewer

This is the outfall, where it enters Crypt,
the tunnel on the right leads across to the High Level Interceptor No.1

'CRYPT'
(Here the 2 sewers pass either side and drop down into the interceptor below)

Crossing over brings you to the Southern High Level Interceptor No.1 as it comes from Putney

This is where it joins the Crypt

Sat between the 2 sewers is an overflow chamber,
here 2 lower overflow weirs allow both sewers to drop into the main interceptor below
