This six storey mill was built in the late 1800s and has had varied uses since closing as a textile mill. In 1961 the Plebeians Halifax Jazz Club rented space at the mill, other occupants included a joinery company, bath makers and in more recent years a packaging company.

During the 1980s the weaving sheds were demolished to make way for the nearby retail park and around the same time the chimney was truncated. By 1988 the mill was only partially occupied and in 2006 planning permission was granted to convert the building into apartments. As is the case with most conversions in recent years, no building work has yet started, assumingly the owners are awaiting an upturn in the housing market.

Not much left of interest inside to be fair, most of the floors at one end of the mill have been removed exposing the bones of the place, which really gives a sense of how the building was constructed.

Cheers fella, Yeh, i bet if a few props were taken out the whole end of the mill would collapse. Looks like they started to clear this place out before the downturn halted work. Hope they manage to save it, its a cracking building :thumb
