View Full Version : Doncaster Manor House, May 2012

In the most unlikely of places, this Elizabethan manor house is almost hidden from view, something that has probably saved the cars out the back from being trashed. It appears to have undergone many changes over the years, that said, there are a few original features left internally, my favourite has to be the fireplace guardian in the first floor grand hall.

The house appears to have been lived in by a Doctor up to the late 1980s who had a love of cars (100s of old car magazines litter the place). In more recent years somebody has attempted a restoration job on the building, a real shame considering whoever was responsible for the work probably wiped out hundreds of years worth of history before either giving it up as a bad job, or running out of money.

Originally visited this place last December, glad to say since then its still mostly intact thanks to the people who have kept its location quiet.

found this place after some googling wasnt too hard ;) but your right - if this has been abandonded for 10 plus years its impressive the stuff thats survived - especially the cars. very surprised by how easy it is to access and the fact theres uber minimial graffiti, but thats probably due to its location as well

tbh i thought all those car mags might have been fly tipping...?

does anyone know of any pics of this place before someone seemed to have tried doing it up? or even an old photo of what it once looked like in full glory - the place mustve been beautiful in its hayday - having said the concidering the size i was like "how small is this kitchen?!" :P
