It was a bright, warm and sunny march morning when me and a friend decided to walk up the loxley valley towards Bradfield, not too far away from Sheffield...My friend is an avid street art "spotter" and was quite keen to discover certain pieces of 'art'. Usually confined to open air sites, you know the usual tagging and bombs...or whatever else they are called...He has fast covered and documented most of the various artists or perpetrators (you decide) in and around Sheffield.

I took this opportunity to fulfil one of my personal photography goals and document urban decay, being concious of safety I thought it would be a sound plan to go with someone else just in-case my naivety got the best of me.

Along the planned route we had 3 stop offs, one of them being the Pinegrove Country Club.

A small history of the Pinegrove Country Club.

Unfortunately I don't know much about the history of this place except former boxer Jason Boon started his career here, It was used as a meeting place of the gangster Mad Frankie Fraser "the most violent man in Britain" who had associations with the Infamous Richardson Gang and the Krays before that and finally is the subject to frequent arson attacks leaving the place derelict and dangerous, just a shell of its once shady stature.

Another arson attack (http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/cloud_of_black_smoke_fills_sky_as_pinegrove_club_d estroyed_in_huge_blaze_1_329382)

As a gentle word of warning this place is in a dire state.

Sorry I am not familiar with the term Derp in this forum, it does however have negative connotations, is that implied?

Ah!, thanks!...it was a total mess, but the graff in there was amazing, I am not sure on the guidlines to posting graffiti shots so I left them out. Thanks for the clarification =D

These are some of the better graffiti in there. I do think these border more on art than vandalism, there is a fine line I think.
