Galem House, Wool warehouse Bradford. March 2012
Galem house AKA Trident Mills Appears on maps going back to 1894
and standing on the corner of Vincent Street and Sillsbridge Road
(now called Grattan Rd). The first record I've found is this from 1898:

James Hill & Sons wool tops and Noil merchants.
But by 1912 it had changed to:

Waddilove & Co. Printers.
It's a big old place and stands next to Woolstone House a great (and now converted) former warehouse.

Inside it has been typically left to rot, but I think it's important to record what's there as it may not be for much longer (more on that later).

Damm! Did I just take a picture of a lightswitch!? It'll be a chair next.... :o
In July 2007 a 29 year old died of a drug overdose inside the building he fell down a chute after injecting himself. His Father has called for the man he was with to stand trial. If you want to read about it it's here: http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/local/localbrad/2227427.Dad_s_fury_at_man_who_left_son_to_die/

Fathers tribute.
I said earlier that it's future is in doubt; a application is in with the local council to demolish this:

And build this:

Not too bad I suppose but I don't think it fit's in with the surrounding listed buildings or the consevation area as a whole. Perhaps an objection is called for?
Anyway thanks for looking at another of Bradford finest fooked mills! :thumb
