Yesterday me and a few friends took a trip to a forest about 5 miles from my house.

In this area, there are several dams, and this is where the water used to be purified, until around 2001 (We think).

I tried googling today, and couldn't find much information about the place, so ill post what I got and try to explain it.

I didn't have my external flash with me, and didn't take many photos, but I plan to head back up over the next few days and try and find some information about the place, and get some more photos.

Luckily when we went up, Gypsies have broke the lock, making it easy to get past the fence. Unfortunately the inside has been trashed, with a lot of copper removed etc.

Old silo. Tried to get inside this, but it was well sealed. The room was full of some sort of white powder, think it was soda lime or something?

Old pressure gauge on the wall in one of the rooms.

Generator, which I assume was a backup generator incase of a powercut?

Old pipes, these where coming in/out of the empty pools you will see in a minute.

Old water filter I presume

More machinery? Big old pumps maybe?

Old urinal. All the other ones had been smashed of the walls. Looks nice and clean

The empty pool. There was 3 of these this size and style, all about 5/6 metre long, and about 3 metres deep. There was no ladders or rropes, so didnt get down into them. There was also 2 which where about 20metres long, and about 5 wide, which where full of metal filters. shown below

View from back of room, This place was really massive! Between each pool where a set of walkways, which had two tunnels running below them.

This is what they where like inside, you can see these must have been like an overflow, or how the water left them. There was a pipe at the lower end of the tunnels, which is how the water must have left, this led into a tunnel below(We think), but we didn't go into this as it had water in the bottom, and was about 2m deep, with no ladder in.

The pipe I was talking about above.

My friend in the tunnel, shows a scale of how low they where.

Very nice. Fair size motors on the pumps I'd say. Be interesting to see what Simon reckon they are.

Grand first report, well done. I would hazard a guess on the motors being Brooke Crompton around 15 horse power, cool. Hard to say, nothing to scale them against.
