I'd been meaning to have a mooch around here for years because I'd heard there were steam locomotives here; but it's a long way from home so when I happened to be nearby with work last month I took the chance...

Coles crane on 6-wheeled lorry chassis.

Aircraft radial engines.

Some big chain, probably from a shipyard...

Some even bigger chain.

Greens motor roller.

Aveling Barford dump truck.

Tank from pre-WW2 railway tank wagon.

Seddon Atkinson tanker.

Fire engine of some sort.

And the main attraction...

Four saddleank locomotives, all built at various times between 1902 and 1949 by Andrew Barclay Ltd. of Kilmarnock. They've been here since the 1970s when they were sold for scrap from collieries around Fife.

that fire engine looks like it is built round a dodge chassis and cab !!

and is sort of like katie price ( no visible means of support !! )

some neat finds there !! love the little andrew barclay 040's sadly overlooked in favour of bigger loco's

Not seen this place in a whiley, good to see a lot of the stuff's still there :)

If you're up there again, there's a few other bits worth seeing in the town...

Bloody hell, mate. If I'm up there again all I'll want is a coffee LOL. Exploring will be the last thing on my mind. 7 hours there, 7 back.
