Mount Ellis/Westmount College - Dover - Sept2011

Brief History:

The building was made for a Jewish businessman Joseph Ellis, who made his money in the colliery trade in 1865, and was reverted to Westmount College, a Juniour branch of Dover College in 1898 after Josephs death.

After splitting opinion on another forum, Ill explain the reasoning behind my post-processing. The location I felt, was very photogenic, decayed beautifully, but quite eerie, and quite creepy (especially in the children's room), therefore I have tried to show this in my photos with high contrast and low saturation mostly.

The texture over the photos is because everywhere I looked I saw peeling paint, and I wanted to reflect that feeling in my photos, by giving them a peeling, "3D-ish" effect, I achieved this by taking photo's of the peeling paint in most of the rooms and layered it over the image.
