Well that's what fans of Istanbul footy club Galatasaray used to refer to their Ali Sami Yen stadium as. Until it was demolished earlier this year that is.
I had hoped to get some shots of the demolition as it progressed but was a bit late as by the time of my visit most of it had already been trashed and carted off. Apparently this was down to the contractors who built the place in the 60s using unwashed sea sand in the concrete, which made it very brittle and easy to demolish.
The workers onsite wouldn't let me wander around so had to make do with a few shots from the site entrance. Can't believe they didn't remove either the goals or the pitch first.
