This gem is hidden away in a tiny wee hamlet close to Loch Lomond. We discovered that security are based in the building itself and we were spotted straight away. Thankfully, they were delighted to let us in for a poke around as long as we 'watched ourselves on the upper floors'. Security told us that they were pretty much only employed there to guard the various mantlepieces which are apparantly worth a fortune. Not a broken window on site - impressive considering the scale of it.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to give you any history on the place, brief Google'n has returned nada.

The main attraction - the stairs!

Wide-angle lobby.

Most of the building consisted of gigantic corridors with empty bedrooms branching off from each side every couple of feet - and the stale smell of pish and fungi.

A shame to see this building vacant - despite the newer, brutally ugly extension slapped on the rear of it; it's a beautiful big place.

Thanks for looking!
