Was in the area so thought i'd have a look.
Considering this is English Heritage, i was impressed. The Mill has been left exactly as it was, with only the addition of a few safety guards around some moving machines, which are so authentic they are hardly noticeable.
The guide was superb and knowledgeable. Perhaps the higlight of the visit was that an extremely old man who formerly worked in the mill, operated the machines thus creating a few bobins. He had no gloves or goggles or anything and wood shavings were flying everywhere - brilliant.
Its not a particulary big site, but on the shores of Lake Windermere, so something else to see and do in the area.
The mill opened in the 1800's and closed in 1971.
It has a look of Murpheys Machines.
