St Johns Hospital, Chelmsford - July 2011

The hospital closed its doors last November after the last of its services transferred to Broomfield Hospital.

Property developer, Inland PLC, has bought half of the 13-acre (2.6 hectares) site once occupied by St John's Hospital in Chelmsford.

Explored alone in July. Access was ok, but the place has some lively PIR sensors, as I found out later on...

I didn't gain access to the building but had an explore around the site. Its boarded well, and security were patrolling around the main car parks.

The pikeys have had their end away with all sorts of overhead piping, which is evident as soon as you get in. I didn't see this in earlier reports.

I set off a PIR sensor on a building towards the a&e section and got the F out it blared out something like "ATTENTION: SECURITY ARE ON THEIR WAY. STAY WHERE YOU ARE" Followed by a rather high pitched alarm.
