closed in 91 this post is now inside an o2 transmiter site,
post opens with a scottish T bar and is dry inside although the sump is just about overspilling and the pump is seazed.

i was desperate to get a look in this one and have been keeping an eye on it for sometime.
yesterday my paitience finaly paid off, mr o2 engineer was in the compound so a quick explanation of what the place was and oh voila, turns out the guy from o2 likes this sort of thing.

loads of paper work and quit a few other items of interest but sadly no comms or metering equipment.

dome on the vent sugests a master station.

on a side note i did find evidence that a local radio amateur had been using the place in the form of a qsl card with his name and address on it, so i may approach him and see if he can comment on the condition when he was there last.

Theres loads of stuff in there, i notice radio mast parts- was the pump up mast there in its tube in the entrance shaft?

the mast has long since gone im afraid, just the retaining clamps on the wall where it should be stowed, i would love to find out who now owns the post and maybe find out about restoring it. or atleast get it protected with new locks as it is one of the better ones in fife.

Probably a good chance it is O2 or if they rent the site then they will know who they rent it from.

Site is in a mast compound. But this particular post has extra hazards. You were perhaps lucky :D or just as likely it's not as hazardous as it once was.

/pseudo-cryptic bullshit

Just re-read the first post, you pretty much dodged the hazards.

Basically, it's pretty near Gordon Brown's house/patch, so the police are a bit more shit hot with power and phone masts than normal round there. More than your average number of 'plain' range rovers about, that sort of thing. Although now he's not PM I'm guessing the security level has been scaled down a fair bit.

The 28days lot got royally busted by a ton of police coming out of the compound, but if the friendly engineer let you in you'd have been fine.

Also, got your PM :D
