I love old British trucks and this place has to be the current day holly grail!

Dont quite know how I managed to find it, but was totally amazed such a place still exists!

Spent ages wondering round the place taking loads of photos. Got busted by the owner returning just as I had climbed up into the back of one of the trucks to take some photos from a higher view point! Fortunately he was a nice guy, though dont think he completely understood my enthusiasm for his field of trucks rusting away! :D

Anyway hope you enjoy!

The middle Bedford still has its UK reg plate and 'AK' makes it registered in Bradford, just like me! :smile

How did you find it, just by chance? It's well hidden.

Yes found it by chance really, think my inbuilt 'old truck compass' must have guided me there! I'd seen photos of it on Flickr but couldn't find out whereabouts it was & doubted it was even still there.
I think it helped that there were a few old trucks running around that area that I had followed to the potato distribution centre at the end of the road.

Was going to ask if you visited the Lefkaritis yard in Lanaca, but just seen that the fabulous photos from this place I found on flickr are your ones!! Some amazing photos there, they pretty much inspired my holiday to Cyprus! Was it really only Nov 2010 that these were taken? They have pretty much completely cleared that yard our now, gutted I missed out on seeing these. Did you visit their other yard just down the road?

It was indeed only November 2010.

Where's their other yard, is that the one with a just a few lorries including this Leyland?
It's a shame they've cleared the big yard, I wanted to go back.

Yes, its a real shame that yards been cleared, there was some great stuff in there! Some of those trucks must have been in that yard for years and years, cant believe I missed them by less than 6 months! Arh well the farmers field scrapyard made up for it.

This is the yard now, just the one row of vehicles, about 14, most of which are in your photos but elsewhere in the yard.

Those 2 Leylands in the small yard are still there, these are about half way between the 2 big yards.
The other big yard is behind their depot where the current tanker fleet parks up. Heres a couple of pics:

I had to sneak round the yard as there was a security guy but think he was more concerned with the active part of the site. Was your visit at night so you could get around the site more stealth like?

Yep, I scoped it out during the daytime, but it seemed far too public and secure to risk. It was only quiet enough by 2 or 3 AM.
