After reading RoyalBob's (http://www.urbexforums.co.uk/showthread.php/13188-Brackenhill-derelict-quarry-and-mine-Aprill-2011?highlight=quarry) post, biscuit707, Phil and I went for a mooch.
It turns out this place isn't abandoned but it does have a friendly and rather eccentric owner who let us have a nose and take a few pics.
Brackenhill Quarries has been in the same family and passed down from generation to generation since the 1850's and is currently run and staffed by just one man, who I think is the last in his family line to run it. This one man excavates and cuts 50 tonnes of stone a year for various companies from his 2 acre (approx) site all while fighting off the big companies who want to buy the site and expand the quarry, which involves pulling down the warehouses nearby bringing the quarry closer to the houses.
