So, this place has been done many a time i know, so i will give a very brief history and then a little of the story of our day.....
The asylum is located in Bracebridge Heath, which is a commuter town just outside or Lincoln. It was built in 1852 under the name Lincoln County Pauper Lunatic Asylum, and finished lif ein 1989 as St Johns Hospital, The buildings in an italian style and was designed by architects Hamilton and Thomas Percy.
ok so our day there, i had asked a few former visitors for tips to go in, so we knew what we were looking for, all the ground floor windows are now boarded up, but eventually we found one that was moveable and we were in, with no natural light now downstairs traversing the masses of corridors was tricky at first. i had spent time looking through previosu reports to get an idea of what we were looking for, points of interest. i am sad to report that since other peoples visits the place had took a decline, the flooring is dangerous to say the least in alot of places, alot of the doors have been removed on the wards (no idea why) and pigeons..... god the pigeons are ruinign everything, but still plenty to see,
we missed out what looks like and entires upstairs and downstairs section due to it being vast and bits of floor that looked very unsafe (probably should of been braver)
we were thinkin of heading out after we had already been in about 2-3 hours when we went to pass our point of entry and were greeted by friendly mr security guard.... or not so friendly and slightly peeved, mostly peeved that he had been sat there for so long waiting, (to be honest he was that shcoked to catch us that he looked bewildered whilst we apologised and walked straight out) needless to say this was easter sunday, they are definately stepping up security on the place!!
