After hearing about this place from a few people around Aberdeen, I knew I had to take a look. I went in twice, once with a member of the forum. The place is huge, it would take an entire day to see everything, and I still haven't.

Broadford works was a textiles factory which closed down in 2002, owned by Richard's ltd. 190 jobs were lost and disputes over redundancy are still ongoing. AFAIK the place closed down in December, and hints of this are evident, but there were no christmas decorations put up since the staff knew they were leaving. On one wall in an office leaving messages to colleagues are left behind, including one reading "Merry Christmas, Boys."

Here are a selection of the photos I took. I am a lowly 2nd year art/photography student so I apologize for these not being perfect, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

I thought this had burnt down, good to see it's still there, if not a little trashed!

Good to see this place again, I haven't been in ages :)

In the words of Samuel Clemens, 'I suspect reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated ' ;) It happens...

Nice shots, you've given a good overview of the site :thumb

I love places like that - loads of little details left - and plenty of photography opportunities! :thumb

Only a tiny bit of it was burnt, most of the floors are flagstone and concrete so it's pretty fire resistant.

I like the photos, it's good to see some recent ones from the place.

Nice to see Skeletor still lives there. Would like to go back, last time we got busted :( Remember sprinting along that little corridor at the end in a bid to escape haha

I lived in Aberdeen for five years, and I can't even think where this is.

Lovely shots, looking a bit chavved but still retaining some charm.
