I have driven past this old Victorian building loads of times and often wondered what it was like inside - so off I went armed with me camera - even managed to get one of the neighbours to help!
Not the most exciting explore it has to be said and most of the original features have long been stripped out, but at least
I can stopped wondering about it now....
The building, which lies within the Heaton Estates Conservation Area, is currently in the hands of a private owner.
During the 1970s, the building was converted from three houses into 12 flats. In 1997, the Council granted planning permission for a nursing home, but the scheme never came to fruition.
In 2008, a change of use application was approved to convert the building back to three dwellings. A condition attached to the approval was that the development would have to start within three years.
The council are now in the process of compulsory purchasing on this property as the owner did not convert the property as planned...
