I thought it was time i should put up a few reports, would have grabbed more off 28dl but i can't anymore as they no longer exist :popcorn
Anyway...
The West Middlesex University Hospital started out as the Brentford Union Workhouse in 1896 and has served as the West Middlesex Hospital since 1920; it provided the general services of a hospital. Just before its closure in 2003, the hospital was serving over 120,000 outpatients a year and 16,000 inpatients; it also delivered an average of 5 babies a day.
In the last few years of its service to the community, it became evident to the NHS that the dilapidated Victorian buildings were no longer suitable for their current use as it posed a safety risk and the layout of the buildings impeded the recovery of the patients - it was taking to long to move between departments. A new multi-million pound hospital was built next door to cater for the needs of the growing hospital and the old Victorian buildings have remained empty since...
