View Full Version : THURLASTON ROC post Leicestershire

Thurlaston closed in 1968, its since been filled to the top of the shaft with soil and rubble and the farmer has since also knocked a hole in the main observer room, in the ROCA magazine a picture of the post has turned up from the original days I thought you would all like to say. It has a request from Martin Cooke asking if anyone recognises someone in the picture and if you can to contact him, if you do on the off chance PM me and ill pass it on.

The post pre 1968, notice the change? You can see a orlit in the background aswell which subbrit says no longer exists. (after)

Sad really to look at but it covers up another part of ROC history, another one investigated by the ROC buff :ty

This ones not far from me, interesting to see the old pic. Went in search of any remains a few years ago and got verbally abused by some nutter!
