When we discovered this place was getting demolished, Mole and I agreed we had to check the place out one last time before it was knocked down - especially since we appear to be the only explorers who've gone just to take a look, and not to steal/wreck things.

We met up at 6:30am and made a quick stop at McDonalds for breakfast, where the guy serving me promptly forgot to give me my hash browns, a fact I only discovered after we arrived at our destination. :(

After munching for a few minutes, and unsure of how we were going to get in - never mind past the 60 foot security fence that seemed to be in good condition all the way around the perimeter with our gear - we decided the roof of the dining area would be a good place to start. So like a ninja I scrambled over the fence, scaled the roof, and wandered around. Unfortunately this yielded nothing particularly useful, so I climbed back over the fence, nearly failing spectacularly.

Next we took a slightly more detailed walk around the building and discovered a way in; success.

It's been about 6 months since we were here, and the place has really gone downhill since then, despite being boarded up and acquiring routine security only a few weeks after our last visit. The few places that were still completely untouched have been stripped by the pikeys, leaving junk lying all over the place.

Since I'd shot exclusively with a wide angle lens on my previous visits, and only had my 24-70 with me this time, I focused more on the little details than the big picture, so these pics are mostly all of random stuff we found. It's very pic heavy, for those of you who fear such threads. I want to get as much of this building online for the record before it goes down.

This is the ventilation area on the roof. I have a feeling we were the first people to get up to it when we first found it, because it was behind a door you don't really notice. We completely missed it the first time we went. It used to be in perfect condition, now there's bits and pieces lying all over the place.

Most of the offices have nothing left in them.

Apart from lots of these.

And lots of cables...

This is rather uninteresting, except that it's the first hose pipe I've ever seen while out exploring that hasn't been unspooled.

Kitchen. This has also been quite wrecked since our last visit.

This door was for a little room containing a device that emitted radiation. Looks like something from a submarine.

This is just inside the main staff entrance at the back of the building.

The admiralty charts unfortunately weren't there. Not entirely surprising, considering they apparently cost a fortune.

So there we go. It was quite saddening to see it in that state. We saw red X's had been spray painted on various vertical columns around the inside of the building, and around the staircases. I took that to mean that they'll be using explosives to knock it down, but I hope that isn't the case.

Our exit was as comical as it usually is. Spotting a car right next to where we'd gone in over the fence, we went back inside the building and out through the opposite side. As we were climbing over the fence, that same car drove around and right past us. Fail. And then another car. Double fail.
