Another oldy. Again, I thought I'd posted these, but it looks like I haven't. This is rather pic heavy, sorry.

We visited Strathmartine just a few days before the latest big fire there.

Our explore was fairly interesting, almost got caught twice. The first time was just as we were about to leave, walked around the corner of a building in full view of a guy in a high vis jacket who'd been walking in our direction. He must have seen us, so we legged it off down the hill in the opposite direction. Didn't see him after that, so who knows what happened to him.

The second time was as we were leaving. I got my shirt caught on a fence and only just managed to untangle myself, stand up, and try my hardest not to look suspicious 5 seconds before a car rounded the corner on the little road right next to me. Fun times.

The first interesting find of the day was a couple of cars. Inside a hospital building? Not what I'd been expecting to find.

Whoever had put it in there had apparently attempted to barricade the only door into that section of the building with tires and junk. What they failed to consider was that the door opened away from their barricade, so it ended up doing nothing to stop anyone. I only just noticed the door from the other side, it was hidden behind a big open door, tucket away in a corner.

Moving on. Standing on rusted metal mesh isn't particularly fun, especially when you know what's underneath (see below).

Our first foray into the main building. Immediately came across a room whose ceiling had completely collapsed in. It's barely waist high now.

The fact that the children's drawings were in perfect condition while the building crumbled around them is ever so slightly creepy. There were a few of these, and every one of them was completely untouched.

Dorm rooms.

Wish I'd visited this place before the hall was burnt down, looks like it was really nice.

What's left of the stage.

Another burnt room with a few remaining things of interest.

I can never resist climbing things like this.

You can just see the corner of the lift generator in the room on the right.

This place has a bad rep, presumably because it's so trashed. Personally I really enjoyed it, though unfortunately I missed the pool because we thought that guy would be following us so we decided to skip it. Going to have to make a return trip one day.
