Going through more old photos, I found some from the Tivoli Theatre from the open day they had a few years ago. This place has been closed for a long long time, but there are still a group of people who maintain it as best they can. Unfortunately, this place was absolutely packed, so it was impossible to get photos of the main area without people in the shots.

For years I had no idea what was behind these doors. It's right opposite the main bus/train station and biggest shopping centre in the city.

Above the main stage.

The machine presumably used to lift the curtains? The plate on the front says 'The Hall Manufacturing & Supply Co Ltd. Nona Works, Brixton, London.'

Any idea why gold foil was used on these?

Beside the stage. You weren't supposed to go down those steps into the basement, but that never stops anyone.

Around the time these were taken I heard about the basement flooding. There were a few pumps and lots of hosepipes lying about the place, presumably to keep the water out.

The old disused room for providing power.

I loved this old thing.

There were even basic operating instructions printed on the wall.

The impressive (by Aberdeen standards at least) main hall. The ceiling is especially nice.

Very nice place, hopefully I can get back in there again one day.
