Bangour Village Hospital, West Lothian, Scotland - Jan 2011

[Revelation_Space]

Along with a visit to a certain secret site not far from Bangour (which pikies have discovered by the way, and are in the process of destroying, for those of you who want to take a look at it before it's ruined), some friends and I went for a wander around Bangour the other day.

Security seem to have disappeared from the site, and the result is that several buildings have had entrances made (presumably by local neds, since they've done a thoroughly unsubtle job of it).

It was basically getting dark by the time we arrived, and combined with the fact that there were loads of people there - far more than when I visited in the summer - meant we only went into one building; the boiler house.

Wanted to get in here for ages, and it's completely intact inside, with few signs of age. Well worth a look if anyone is in the area. I now really regret not taking the opportunity to see this place unhindered and really wish I'd checked out the other buildings. Didn't even properly investigate the boiler house either, as I forgot to go through one of the doors that was wide open, and completely forgot to photograph large sections of what I did see. Bit of a fail really, might go back for another look this week.

Getting dark. There was major ice absolutely everywhere. I saw several people falling over within 5 minutes of arriving.
