This mine (copper/lead/bit of anything they found really)Had been on my "list" for some time ,
Finally got round to visiting it a couple of months ago ......Headed there with a good friend of mine and my significant other half .
Perfect Trip this was as i have a severe leaning towards the "rusty old machinery section ,while My other half prefers the mineralisation side of things ....BUT !!! we were both VERY happy to visit this mine as it has both aplenty ......
I am not going to go into great detail about the history of this place ,as i doubt that there would be anything i could post that wasn't already out there if looked for .
After a good few years being dragged around disused mine workings as a kid (by my Dad :ty) I can honestly say that it is a long ,long long time since i felt such awe at what we saw down there ......
It isn't a big mine by any means ,but it has a beauty in a kind of undisturbed peace that is a rare thing these days .What the chap that re-discovered it back in the seventies (with the lighting technology available then) must have felt as it was woken from it's long slumber ,must have been palpable .
Anyway pictures ......

Simply stunning place (currently No 11 on my top ten places :smclap),
and well worth a visit BUT be careful as there are false floors/rotten timber/collapses aplenty waiting to catch you out .
Some VERY interesting acoustics in there too if you humm in the right places :thumb
