Visited with Tankman

This post has been demolished.
The post was situated next to the Rollright stones and in the same field as the Kings stone, although the post has been demolished the top part of the acsess shaft and the fence posts have been dumped in the hedgerow nearby. Long Compton was a master post and we beleive it to have been in Coventry Group.

What remains of the shaft

A metal vent slat is still fitted :elvis

Fence post in the bushes

Telepgraph pole that served the post

From some contacts Tankman has heard that the land owner would like to excavate the post.

After getting attacked by stinging nettles and brambles! "Tankman" flattened the undergrowth to get this stunning picture of the Entrance shaft/turret:lol:
