Visited after work with my friend Suzi, so got up here when the light was gone. Running around the asylum in the dark, it makes it that little bit more fun :lol:

I've decided to stop saying that its 'the last' trip up here because there is no point any more. I guess I am just watching the final few months of this site because time really has run out and the winter will really leave the site needing demolition and nothing else. The place has been absolutely raped of its contents now - doors, door fixings, door frames, window frames, lead, copper, glass, fire places, the clock mechanism, the clock faces. Even Admin which I would have originally said at least might be worth turning into a nice house is looking really bad state of affairs now. The chapel seems to be secure, it will be the only thing left standing in a few years time if you ask me. Such a sorry waste of buildings that 24 months ago were still in good, dry, condition.

There is security on site now. Almost laughable given the state of affairs of the place. 12 months too late really. As I was taking my last shot of the external of admin they rocked up in a car and informed me that I wasn't allowed to take a picture of the building 'because its private property' - I then proceeded to question if the road was actually a public right of way (which I think it is) but they weren't having any of it. They appear to be based in the building at the far right of the site near the drive to the old isolation hospital. Too little too late..
