I've been promising SilentHill that I'd get involved in these forums, so here's my first contribution of some shots I took a few months ago.
Pule Hill is part of the Marsden Moor Estate on the edge of Huddersfield. Access is easy, as would be expected for publicly open land, from a stile in a layby on the A62 Manchester Road, although the terrain is moderately tough walking.
What is of particular interest is that under this area of peat moorland are the Standedge Tunnels, carrying the Huddersfield to Manchester railway lines and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
The colour photos were taken on 03/07/10, the two black and white shots were on 27/08/10.
Dominating the hillside, two air vents for the tunnels

On my later visit I was lucky to see the effect of a steam excursion passing through the tunnel

On the hill there are several relics of the London North Western Railway in the form of stone posts marking the boundary of the railway land

Progressing up the hill, there's a rocky outcop popular with climbers. It's like a mini Brimham Rocks

On the top of the hill the terrain flattens out. Up here there are further marker posts

And another vent shaft - this one is square for some reason

Unusually for this isolated location, there's a War Memorial too
